Jersey Boys is a show based on the lives of Frankie Valli, Tommy Devito, Nick Massi and Bob Gaudio and the rise of fame that took them from small shows to becoming The Four Seasons. This is a great show for those that remember and long for the old school. The Four Seasons were an amazing set as their voices came togther so well, yet each had their own distinct and different personality. Many of the bands hit songs are re-performed nearly as well as they were first done, including hits such as “Big Girls Don’t Cry” “oh, what a night” and “Sherry”.
The first story teller of the evening is a performer playing the part of Devito who clearly states “We put Jersey on the map” this statement however true it may be set the tempo for the whole show, a life changing story from 4 different perspectives that all end the same way… and so is the story of The Four Seasons.
In many ways the stories of the great band mirror that of the big rock and roll bands of today, allot of it seems to stem from the lack of self control, but allot of this has led The Four Seasons through their life as it is told. Many of the stories and memories relived by the performers, playing as the former band mambers, show that their real lives were far from the happy and simplistic music that they had been releasing, far from it many of the band members were living their own versions of hell.
NVVegas.com rates this show as a 7 out of 10 stars, it is a great historical story telling of one of the most influential bands of any time.
